As a social being, humans need effective interactions in their personal, family, professional and social environments, so training in effective interactions will lead to social health for humans. The DISC Advanced Behavioral Science course was held under the supervision of Dr. Seyedeh Zahra Mirbagheri with the support of the UNESCO Chair in Social Health and Development at the University of Tehran. The workshop was held over two days for 16 hours. On the first day, effective interaction strategies with various behavior models were examined based on the DISC behavioral model. The DISC Behavior Assessment Model (DISC) is a behavioral model, which was expressed according to the theories of William Marston in 1928. This model believes that observable human behaviors are classified into 4 main groups. In fact, DISC is a tool for understanding the behavior of others that divides natural human behaviors into 4 bases: dominance (D), influence (I), stability (S), and conscientiousness (C).
Accordingly, the participants took the DISC test before attending this workshop, and after their behavioral model was determined, effective strategies were presented to them to strengthen and have desirable interactions.
The DISC model is a criterion for recognizing people and predicting their behaviors. This model helps to communicate more effectively with different people in different situations. On the second day of this workshop, participants were able to achieve a clear understanding of different behavioral models and the strengths of behavioral models by taking the Clifton and Emotional Intelligence tests. The Clifton Talent Assessment (CSTA) is an advanced tool for discovering individual talents that helps participants to use their strengths and talents to adjust their behavioral challenges. This workshop was able to attract the attention of the participants by playing group games and group work and ended with high satisfaction of the participants. It should be noted that the introductory workshop on this topic will be held in 8 hours.
