This book, which is the product of the joint activity of the members of the "Health and Environmental Communications" scientific group of the Cultural Studies and Communication Association, is a selected collection of articles that have been translated from English to Persian in order to produce and publish theoretical and empirical scientific literature in this scientific field, namely health communications, and has been published by TISA Publishing this year.

The purpose of health communications is to study and apply communication strategies to inform and influence any individual and social decision related to health - with all its dimensions - in order to maintain and improve the health of the people of the society.

The field of academic studies and research "health communications" has an interdisciplinary nature. Accordingly, it has become a good platform for the formation of effective relationships and interactions between social sciences and medical/health sciences, and to applied communications at both micro and macro levels; between healthcare providers and patients, and between health institutions and the general public.

This book is based on the translation of selected texts and articles from the existing scientific-research literature in the world in the interdisciplinary field of health communication, which is available to readers with a variety of topics to better familiarize academic audiences and those interested in the field of health communication in Iran. The chapters of this book deal with topics such as dimensions of health communication, health communication studies in Asia, health communication campaigns in developing countries, health communication, and the promotion of social capital.

The scientific-specialized group "Health and Environmental Communication" is in the Iranian Association for Cultural Studies and Communication. Since its establishment in 2014, this group has been committed to producing and translating scientific literature in the field of health communication. This book, translated by Shirin Ahmadnia, Habib Rathi Tehrani, Masoumeh Shafati, Atefeh Aghaei, Soraya Ahmadi, and Erfan Rezaei Safa, and scientifically edited by Zahra Ojaq, has been published in 168 pages in the joint collection of works of the Iranian Association for Cultural Studies and Communication and Tisa Publications in the fall of 2018.
