Abstract: (Original article)
One of the important goals of the health system in any country is to ensure, maintain, and improve the health and quality of life of all members of society. To achieve this, providing appropriate facilities and amenities to ensure physical, mental, and social health of humans at all stages of life is considered a basic right. Health is not just a biological issue, and social factors are also involved in determining the level of health of individuals. Many factors contribute to this situation, the most important of which are social trust, spending free time, feeling of hopelessness, religious beliefs, and the socioeconomic status of individuals. The research method was a survey and the data collection technique was standard questionnaires. The statistical population was households in Tabriz, whose number was 428,009. According to the formula for determining the sample size for Tabriz, the number of households was estimated to be 326. The sampling method was multi-stage cluster sampling. The overall goal of this study was to determine the social factors affecting the social health of households in Tabriz. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between the level of social health of Tabriz households and the aforementioned variables. The results of the regression analysis of the factors explaining social health showed that among the predictor variables, four variables of religious beliefs, feelings of hopelessness, social trust, and leisure time spending remained in the final model, and these variables explained 22% of the variance of the criterion variable.
